Thank you and welcome to the new Municipal police officers Association website. The MPOA is an non-profit organization that has been around since 1945 and has help support officers around the state of Louisiana. The MPOA raises money throughout the year to help officers with death benefits and also awarding scholarships to members and their families. Each year the MPOA also donates to several other charities throughout the state and just currently helped build a Law Officers Memorial. Each December, the MPOA buys at least 300 food bags for needy families. Each one of these bags feeds a family of 6 which equates to 1200 people feed each Christmas because of the Association.

The MPOA raises money through phone solicitations and also by sponsoring at least two bingo sessions a week at Bayou Bingo Plus in Monroe, LA.

The MPOA is also active in legislature which in 2010, Members were appointed to the Governors task force on DWI which helped write the new laws that are currently in effect. The MPOA is also in the process of sponsoring training events for members, free of charge, to further educate and prepare officers on the street to do their jobs more proficiently.
